Essential Back-to-School Resources for MA Parents

As the school year begins, parents across the Commonwealth are concerned about the sexual indoctrination pervading their local school districts. Student clubs like the Gender and Sexuality Alliance set aside a day or week, in almost every month of the school year to promote sexual ideology. The MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has drafted a Framework currently under consideration that encourages graphic and grooming sex ed. 16 school districts in MA now have policies that openly state that personnel can, or even should, keep a child’s transgender status from their parents. The attacks on the hearts and minds of children are relentless. However, MFI is helping MA parents stand in defense of their children.

For the second year in a row, almost 4,000 students opted out of pornographic sex education and LGBT materials in the second largest city in all of New England, Worcester. MFI has been on the front lines of this movement.

In May of 2021, Michael King, MFI’s Director of Community Alliances, testified in front of the Worcester School Committee and predicted that if it approved the use of the graphic 3Rs sex ed curriculum parents would start the largest OPT OUT movement the state has ever seen. Unsurprisingly, the committee voted to implement the 3Rs. As predicted, aided by MFI the parents of Worcester launched a historic sex ed OPT OUT initiative to protect kids from this pornographic curriculum. The momentum of the OPT OUT campaign has spread throughout the Commonwealth and shows no signs of stopping in the ’23-’24 school year.

This school year, MFI continues to be at the forefront of protecting children from sexualization and indoctrination in local districts. Our research and resources equip parents with the knowledge they need to protect their children and safeguard their parental rights. From our sex ed map that tells parents exactly what is being taught in their school district, to our resource lists that help parents learn more about issues in education and how they can exercise their parental rights, MFI is the go-to source for MA families.

Here are 3 MFI resources parents can take advantage of to protect their children from sexual indoctrination in school:

  1. Sex Ed Map: Know the messages being taught in your school district. Use the interactive map on our website to search your school district. Resources being used in MA schools to teach sex ed are evaluated by MFI to see whether they contain the following harmful elements: sexualizes children, promotes diverse sexualities, promotes transgenderism, promotes abortion, and undermines parents or parental rights.
  2. Informative Printable PDFs: Understand your rights. Read our Sex Ed Know Your Rights PDF for a full explanation of your rights as a MA parent. Learn what MA law says about inappropriate books and curricula in schools. Read our Memo on Sexually Explicit Content Laws PDF to counteract misleading information from school officials.
  3. OPT OUT Movement: Join thousands of MA parents who are opting their children out of graphic sex ed classes. Use the sample sex ed opt-out letter and the accommodation request regarding LGBTQ content found on our website. If you want to alert the parents in your district regarding graphic sex ed, contact Michael King, [email protected] for help in starting a local OPT OUT initiative.

Finally, here are additional ways parents can stay engaged and act to protect their children in education.

Attend the upcoming MFI parent forum in Foxborough with detransitioner Katy Anderson on Friday, September 8th at 7 PM.  Come hear what MFI and detransitioner Katie Anderson are doing to protect children and empower parents.

Consider exiting the public school system and taking advantage of a new education alternative in MA. Learning Centers are being established all over the state to provide parents with innovative and affordable education options.

Stay informed on what is happening in Massachusetts schools and connect with like-minded parents. Join Massachusetts Informed Parents (MIP) on Facebook! Receive the latest news from MA schools delivered right to your inbox by subscribing to the MIP Substack.

Finally, reserve your seat for the MFI Annual Fundraising Banquet. The timely theme of our banquet this year is The Battle for Our Children. Katy Faust, author of Them Before Us, and founder of a global children’s rights movement of the same name, will be our keynote speaker. She publishes, speaks, and testifies widely on why marriage and family are matters of justice for children and their need for protection from sexual ideology and grooming. Seating is limited, register to attend today!
