Back to school season is around the corner, and MFI has valuable resources for parents, community members, and education leaders to make this year a success. Through Massachusetts Informed Parents (MIP) and Massachusetts Education Resource Center (MERC), we are empowering parents to stand for their rights and protect their kids in the classroom and beyond, and equipping school committee members to implement common-sense policies that prioritize education over ideology.
Massachusetts Informed Parents
We know that schools across Massachusetts regularly embed inappropriate, controversial content into their curriculums, and spend time promoting gender-ideology outside of the classroom too. MIP exists to expose these issues and show parents how to advocate for change in their districts.
You don’t have to look far to see just how agenda-driven Massachusetts public schools are, and why exposing these issues matters. In Lexington, Kindergarteners encountered books exposing them to gender ideology and sexuality, long before they reached an age where these discussions would be appropriate. Leominster Public Schools created a policy in which teachers were required to hide students’ trans-identification from parents – a brave Christian teacher objected to this outrageous policy and lost his job shortly after. In Plymouth, parents had to fight back after the district proposed a new 8th-grade sex ed curriculum riddled with indoctrination, including normalizing sex for young students.
These examples point to the ultimate issue: When it comes to life, gender, and sexuality, Massachusetts public schools do not share our values. This translates to situations like those described above – and others – in which schools go behind parents’ backs to expose children to sensitive content and values that the state deems “appropriate.” This often happens regardless of whether the content may violate a family’s sincerely held convictions.
As long as Massachusetts public schools insist on putting inappropriate content in front of kids, MIP will be here to keep families informed about what is really happening and how they can push back. Subscribe to the MIP Substack today to receive updates on in-depth investigations about what is happening in schools across the Commonwealth. And, join the MIP Facebook group to connect with likeminded parents and be empowered to stand up for your children’s education.
