As the academic year enters its final months, parents should stay alert to LGBTQ activism within their local school districts. In some Massachusetts schools, such as Arlington, student groups are launching “Pride” celebrations as early as May, weeks ahead of the official Pride Month in June. This means you may soon see in your district school-sanctioned or student-led events, lessons, and activities promoting radical sexual and gender ideologies to students, often without parental notification or consent. For example, the Hamilton-Wenham district is already featuring Pride t-shirts for sale on the homepage of its website.
We’ve documented many of these concerning activities in our resource: “Sex on the School Calendar”. It outlines how explicit, ideologically driven content is being pushed on minors under the banner of “diversity” and “inclusion,” even for very young children.
Parents, stay vigilant. Check your district’s event calendars. Talk to your children. Ask their teachers what is being planned in the classroom or if there are any all-school assemblies scheduled. You have the right to opt your child out of lessons and activities that conflict with your family’s values.
Don’t be caught off guard—stay informed and protect your children. If you have questions or believe your parental rights have been violated related to LGBTQ content taught in school, contact the Massachusetts Liberty Legal Center at [email protected].
