As part of MFI’s Sex Ed Map Project, which makes curriculum reports from local school districts available for parents, MFI has reviewed thousands of pages of sex education lessons in use in MA public schools. We have uncovered highly controversial content that promotes sexual activity for minors, diverse sexual and gender identities, abortion, and that undermines parental rights.
Recently, MFI discovered a concerning sex ed lesson from Wayland Public Schools, obtained through a public records request for the district’s sex education curriculum. An 8th-grade lesson on human development and puberty not only included medically inaccurate language regarding sex and gender but also suggested that students would be compelled to use this terminology against their will.
The lesson imposes an expectation that students must avoid using common terms to describe sex differences, such as “male” and “female,” and instead adopt the awkward, misleading terminology of “person with a penis” and “person with a uterus.” MFI sent a letter to Wayland Public Schools urging the removal of this portion of the lesson to protect students’ freedom of speech and thought, avoid potential liability, and ensure that accurate information on the important topics of sex and gender is being taught.

MA schools are exposing students to highly graphic and inappropriate content under the guise of comprehensive sexuality education (CSE), effectively sexualizing our children and indoctrinating them with LGBT ideology. These CSE curricula, integrated into health classes, are pushing boundaries far beyond what is appropriate for young minds, compromising their innocence and confusing their understanding of gender and sexuality. At MFI, we are committed to shining a light on the harmful impact of CSE through our Sex Ed Map Project, the Opt Out of Pornographic Sex Ed Movement, and the Massachusetts Informed Parents Initiative.
Our efforts are empowering parents to take action, protect their children, and reclaim control over the education and moral upbringing of the next generation. Together, we are standing against this assault on childhood and advocating for education that truly respects the values and rights of families.
