MFI deeply mourns the loss of Dr. James Dobson, who was called to his heavenly home today at the age of 89.
Dr. Dobson, founder of Focus on the Family, the Family Research Council, and the James Dobson Family Institute, played a transformative role in the formation of the Family Policy Council movement—an influential network shaping family-oriented advocacy at state and national levels. MFI is honored to stand among the organizations inspired by his legacy.
For over fifty years, Dr. Dobson’s radio ministry and writings reached countless households, offering strength, encouragement, and biblical insight to Christians navigating cultural and political challenges. His innovative spirit and unwavering conviction have left an indelible mark on generations of families.
The following statement is from Massachusetts Family Institute President, Michael King:
“Massachusetts Family Institute mourns the loss of Dr. James Dobson after he passed into eternal Glory today. We also celebrate that after 89 years of faithful service to the Kingdom of God, Dr. Dobson is now face-to-face with our glorious Savior and enjoying His eternal reward.
Just this afternoon, I found my kids sitting at the dining room table listening to ‘Adventures in Odyssey,’ the same program I grew up listening to as a kid.
Dr. Dobson’s legacy will continue in the many victories to protect the First Amendment and parental rights in the Commonwealth, create affordable K12 education, and protect the sanctity of life. We will never stop our tireless effort to create an environment in Massachusetts where the traditional family and marriage can thrive.”
