The Dangerous Sex-Ed Mandate Could Pass at Any Time – Contact Your Legislator Today

July 7, 2026

We’ve been warning you about the Healthy Youth Act for years – but as the 2026 legislative session comes to a close at the end of July, it could pass the legislature at any time.

This bill, H.646/S.340, is a bold attempt to embed graphic sex-ed material into the classroom and eliminate local control over what kind of sex-ed can be taught. If this bill passes, schools would be required to use the state’s Comprehensive Health and Physical Education (CHPE) Framework when creating sex-ed curricula – and this framework violates the consciences of many parents and school districts across the Commonwealth.

The CHPE framework includes standards that would require districts to teach students as young as 8 about sexual orientation, analyze “sexual readiness” and the “positives” of engaging in sexual activity for students as young as 11, and discuss the “benefits” of sexual activity for students as young as 14.

You can learn more about what this harmful framework contains below.

The CHPE framework content not only normalizes adults – effectively strangers – discussing sexual behavior with children, but it removes the ability for anyone other than parents or caregivers with students enrolled in a district to examine curricula. This means a concerned faith leader or grandparent who does not have children attending their district schools would be forced to submit a public record request to view curricula.

When it comes to promoting “diverse sexualities” and gender ideology in the classroom, Massachusetts parents already have enough to worry about. And if the Healthy Youth Act passes, families, and even common-sense minded school committees, will have even less say in the agendas pushed on their children.

We urge you to contact your legislator today and tell them to vote NO on H.646/S.340.

The legislative session is almost over, so the time to act is now.
