The Massachusetts legislative session is almost over, and MFI has updated information on bills we’ve been opposing for years. These bills could be brought for a vote at any time, making the information below critical to our fight for faith, family, and freedom in the Commonwealth.
Radical Abortion Expansion Bills
H.2370/S.1563, “An Act Prioritizing Patient Access to Care,” seeks to remove virtually all remaining protections in Massachusetts for unborn babies and their mothers.
Massachusetts law currently permits abortions after 24 weeks only in limited circumstances: when the mother’s life or physical or mental health is at risk, or when the baby has been diagnosed with a lethal fetal condition. But, these bills are designed to eliminate even those limits, allowing the killing of viable babies for any reason, or no reason at all.
This bill also expands who may perform late-term abortions beyond physicians to include other licensed clinicians, stripping away an additional layer of medical oversight currently in state law.
MFI opposes abortion at every stage, and we oppose this bill in the strongest possible terms – you can read more about this bill in the brief below.

Sex Education Mandate
H.656/S.340, “An Act Relative to Healthy Youth,” is a dangerous bill that would mandate the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE)’s controversial “Comprehensive Health and Physical Education” framework for public schools across the state. Currently, local schools can decide for themselves what and when to teach the children in their community about sex based on the unique needs of their student populations and desires of their parents. This bill would eliminate that right by forcing every school to use the DESE framework. The framework contains many shocking and age-inappropriate standards, such as:
- Introducing kids in K-2 to same-sex marriages and people of “all genders”
- Teaching kids in grades 3-5 to “Explain how gender identity and sexual orientation can vary in each individual.”
- Pointing kids in grades 6-8 toward “sources of information about human sexual and reproductive health (including pregnancy and pregnancy options).”
Read more about the CHPE framework here.
Parents must fight back against the Healthy Youth Act, as it eliminates local control and reduces transparency, while making graphic sexual content more mainstream in the classroom.

LGBT Foster Care Mandate
H.4599, “An Act establishing a bill of rights for children in foster care,” claims to protect foster children but contains language that would eviscerate religious liberty for foster families, mandate radical ideology, and harm the very children it claims to protect. It discriminates against faith-based parents willing to help children in need, pressures families to compromise their beliefs, and threatens to worsen the foster care shortage. Read the brief below to learn more.
This bill explicitly requires foster placements to conform to a “gender affirming” ideology, effectively barring Christian and other religious families who hold traditional beliefs about gender and sexuality. Massachusetts already struggles with a shortage of foster families. By intentionally excluding religious caregivers who represent a large portion of willing homes, this bill deepens the crisis.
LGBTQ Curriculum Bill
Under H.599/S.336, “An Act relative to LGBTQ+ inclusive curriculum,” schools would be required to embed LGBTQ+ figures, history, and themes into the general curriculum without clear guidelines for age-appropriateness or opt-out protections.
This bill specifically raises serious questions about parental rights, curriculum transparency, and ideological overreach – all without clear guidelines for age-appropriateness or opt-out protections. Learn more in the brief below.
It is important to note that in the Senate, this bill has been tied to the Healthy Youth Act. This means that if the senate passes the Healthy Youth Act, this bill will pass as well.
