January is Pro-Life Month, and we invite you to join us in celebrating and advocating for the sanctity of human life all month long. Standing up for life is more important than ever – and MFI is determined to lead the charge in Massachusetts. One key way that MFI is promoting the sanctity of life is through filing lawsuits on behalf of pro-life pregnancy resource centers (PRCs) facing unjust discrimination through our legal center, the Massachusetts Liberty Legal Center (MLLC).
Beginning in 2024, MLLC took on two lawsuits on behalf of life-saving pregnancy resource centers in the Commonwealth: Your Options Medical and Bethlehem House. In Your Options Medical vs. Healy, MLLC joined the American Center for Law and Justice to file suit against Governor Healey, the MA Department of Public Health, and their cronies at Reproductive Equity Now. This lawsuit targets the unconstitutional defamation, intimidation, and harassment towards PRCs like our client for their pro-life message and deeply held Christian convictions.
The case is currently awaiting a hearing scheduled for January 29, 2026. We ask for continued prayers as we seek to defend the life-saving work of pregnancy resource centers in the year ahead.
MLLC also filed a first-of-its-kind defamation lawsuit on behalf of Bethlehem House PRC against Reproductive Equity Now (REN), a radical pro-abortion activist group that colluded with the State of Massachusetts in its million-dollar smear campaign against pro-life PRCs. The lawsuit, Bethlehem House v. Reproductive Equity Now, alleges that REN deliberately defamed Bethlehem House and other PRCs in order to undermine the work that they do for pregnant and parenting women.
The case is currently in the discovery phase, and we remain committed to pursuing accountability and justice for this vital ministry.
This unjust treatment of those dedicated to loving and serving mothers in need cannot be tolerated in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and these lawsuits are proof of MFI’s commitment to standing up for life. But it cannot stop in the courts. Despite the odds, we must continue to lobby for pro-life legislation at the State House.
We urge you to contact your local legislators and ask them to support these pro-life bills in Massachusetts. These bills, including H.1389, the Defunding Planned Parenthood Bill, H.2493/H.217, the Anti-Smear Campaign Bills, and H.2428, the Late-term Abortion Ban Bill — seek to uphold the value of life at every stage. These measures would protect the unborn, support women and families in crisis, and ensure that taxpayer funds are used ethically — not to promote or subsidize abortion or target life-affirming organizations. Together, they affirm a fundamental truth: every human life is worthy of protection, compassion, and respect.
Additionally, we ask you to contact your legislators and ask them to oppose new bills that would radically expand abortion in Massachusetts. These bills, including H.1815, An Act enhancing access to abortion, H.1991, An Act relative to abortion care for young people, and S.1579, An Act to eliminate barriers and expand abortion access, and more, would remove safety regulations for late-term abortions, eliminate all restrictions after 24 weeks, and allow abortions for any reason — even for girls of any age, without parental knowledge. They would also abolish judicial oversight for minors and block schools from informing parents about abortion services.
What’s more, the legislation would allow minors to consent to vaccines and medical treatments without parental consent, force medical professionals to participate in abortions against their beliefs, and weaponize taxpayer funds to attack pregnancy resource centers.
