MFI recently discovered that Beverly Public Schools (BPS) is using the controversial Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) approach in their sex ed curriculum. A troubling excerpt from the 9th grade curriculum includes explicit “Sex Guides” on anal, oral, and vaginal sex. These guides feature nude or partially nude images and contain inappropriate content, such as slang terms, tips for sexual acts, suggestions for “dirty talk,” and more. The material is highly objectionable and has no place in a school setting. You can read the full report (refer to p.141) on BPS’s sex ed curriculum here.
Securing information on sex ed lessons is part of MFI’s Sex Ed Map Project. Our education research team collects and evaluates the resources used in Massachusetts schools to teach the sex ed portion of health class. Our evaluations determine whether the materials sexualize children, promote diverse sexualities, promote transgenderism, advocate for abortion, or undermine parents and parental rights. The findings are compiled into summary reports and made available on our interactive Sex Ed Map for easy access.
