Sex-ed Mandate up for a vote in MA Senate

The Massachusetts State Senate is set to vote next week on an “Act Relative to Healthy Youth”, which is a euphemism for a state-wide, sex-education mandate. This legislation is something MFI has been helping supporters stay up to date on for awhile now. You can read our latest posts here, here, and here

We’re still evaluating the latest version of the bill, released moments ago, but what we do know is that the Healthy Youth Act will:

  • Mandate that schools teaching sex-ed follow a set of state frameworks that will be written by Beacon Hill bureaucrats sometime in 2020
  • Require schools use LGBTQ+ affirming curriculum
  • Define terms like “medically accurate” and “age-appropriate” by Planned Parenthood’s anti-family standards

This bill will likely move quickly, and we will need your help next week. Please look for an email from us by end of day Monday with an update and action steps.
