National loss, but local victory for the pro-life movement

The pro-life movement experienced mixed results this week on both ends of the life spectrum. Sadly, the abortion industry in Texas was placed above the law asIMG_1527 the U.S. Supreme Court shot down a Texas requirement for abortion clinics to meet basic health and safety standards. The president of our counterpart in Texas, Jonthan Saez, eloquently shared how we feel in this press release:

This is a lawless and political decision by some Supreme Court justices who care more about the profits of abortion clinics than the safety of women. This latest episode of judicial activism has now made an abortion clinic in Texas one of the most dangerous places to be – not just for unborn children, but now for Texas women as well.”

I’m happy to say, however, that here in Massachusetts we learned just yesterday of a long-awaited victory in the fight over the end of life.  MA’s pending physician-assisted suicide bill has been defeated for this session! The NewBostonPost wrote a helpful summary yesterday, which you can read here.  The culture of death will be back again for the next legislative session, but they will have to start all over again in January of 2017.

We believe all life, from birth to natural death, is valuable to God, and we will continue to stand for the dignity of life as we rejoice in this local victory today.

For our families,
