50 years and counting!

Dear Friend of the Family,

Lura and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary last year. This National Marriage Week, we can truly say that after raising four children and now delighting in 10 grandchildren, it gets sweeter and sweeter as the days go by!

From our lifetime of experiences we absolutely believe in marriage being the union of one man and one woman. That Kris & Luraunion not only gave us mutual fulfilment and contentment but a legacy for the next generation as we are now blessed to see our children married and raising their families. Some of those grandchildren are now in college so it won’t be long before the next tier of the legacy begins.

On occasion we are asked how did we do it? Well the truth is, it’s been the grace of Almighty God. Or to put it another way, for best results consult the manufacturer’s handbook! After all, marriage between a man and a woman is not man’s idea; it was God from the beginning who established marriage to be a blessing for all mankind. It is the fundamental institution for companionship and intimacy, for friendship and encouragement, for comfort and solace, for love and forgiveness, for procreation and heritage.

Marriage is irreplaceable and can’t be counterfeited. It is the blessing of a lifetime, but fragile and needs to be handled with the utmost of care and prayer. Above all, marriage between a man and a woman is well worth every effort to make it endure.

Thank you for joining us as we celebrate National Marriage Week!

For our families,
